Cookie Policy
What cookies are
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Similar technologies include session storage, which stores information for a browser tab session.
Current website
External analytics and advertising integrations are not active. The current free download flow does not require an email address or acceptance of external analytics.
The Cookie settings link in the footer controls the optional internal visitor counter. The counter is off until you allow Analytics. Turning that option off stops the counter in your browser and removes its cookie. You can download the free PDFs without allowing it.
Cookies and similar storage
| Name | Mechanism and purpose | Configured lifetime |
|---|---|---|
playnest-consent | Cookie that remembers your analytics preference | 180 days |
playnest-census | Cookie used by the optional internal monthly visitor counter, after you allow Analytics | Up to 32 days; removed when you turn Analytics off |
foliolark-measurement-session | Session storage for optional Fall Walk measurement after a new Analytics choice | Browser tab session; removed when Analytics is turned off |
playnest-dismiss-banner-3 | Session storage that remembers dismissal of the bottom banner, when that banner is displayed | Browser tab session |
Administrator authentication is separate from the visitor download flow. It is used for access to the administration area, not as a requirement to download a free pack.
Internal visitor counting
The platform processes the connection IP address to create a monthly hash for deduplicating visits and maintains a monthly visitor total on the Site's server. A hash is not treated here as a guarantee of anonymity. The count is used for platform licensing and the school representative service's visitor threshold. The licence validation request includes the monthly aggregate; the inspected request does not include the individual IP addresses or visitor hashes.
The counter follows the Analytics choice in Cookie settings. On a visit without a saved choice it remains off. If you previously allowed it, you can withdraw that choice at any time by unchecking Analytics and selecting Save. Withdrawing stops future counting in that browser and removes the counter cookie; it does not by itself erase records already stored on the server or in backups. The counter is optional and is not classified here as strictly necessary.
See the Privacy Policy for more about the processing and retention of data.
Browser controls
You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking preference storage may prevent the Site from remembering your choice. Deleting cookies does not by itself delete information already stored on the server; contact us about a data request.
Optional Fall Walk download measurement
After you allow Analytics in Cookie settings following this notice update, the Site can measure views and download attempts for its two Fall Walk packs. It uses a random identifier in this browser tab's session storage and a new random identifier in the file request for each click. Older saved choices alone do not start this new measurement. Free downloads work when Analytics is off and when the measurement service is unavailable.
The Site's own server records the pack and file version, timestamps, response status, byte counts and random identifiers. This measurement journal does not store names, email addresses, IP addresses, browser descriptions or referrer addresses. Technical connection processing elsewhere on the Site is separate. A complete server response does not establish that you saved, opened, printed or played the pack.
Turning Analytics off stops future measurement in this browser and removes its tab identifier; it does not automatically erase earlier server records. While the recorder runs, its working journal is limited to the current UTC date and six previous dates. Its small gateway buffer is limited by size and rotation; an idle buffer can remain longer. These measurement files are separate from the regular application-data backups. No external analytics provider receives these measurement events.
