A look inside

Autumn Picture Bingo cover by FolioLark.

Board 1: maple leaf, squirrel, rain boot; mushroom, umbrella, owl; pumpkin, pine cone, apple.

Each board has the same nine autumn pictures in a different arrangement: pine cone, maple leaf, mushroom, squirrel, owl, apple, pumpkin, umbrella, and rain boot. Choose a different board for each player, then use the caller cards to play together.

What's included

  • A nine-page color PDF in each paper size: A4 and US Letter.
  • Four different 3 × 3 bingo boards, on pages 4-7.
  • Nine caller cards on one cut-out sheet, page 8.
  • Two pages of rules, including how to check a win and share a tie.
  • Three activities for the same pictures: clue guessing, sorting, and a shared story.

The cover is page 1; after-game activities are on page 9.

Print just what you need

For a round, print one board per player plus the caller-card sheet. Two players need three sheets; four players need five. You can keep the rules and activity page on screen.

Choose the PDF that matches your paper. Print at 100% / Actual Size. An adult cuts out the nine caller cards along the lines; leave the bingo boards whole. Prepare nine large paper markers per player.

How to play

  1. Give each player a different board. Show and name the nine pictures before the first round. Players can match pictures without reading the labels.
  2. Shuffle the caller cards and place them face down. The caller turns over one card, shows it, and names the picture. Everyone covers the match on their board. Keep each drawn card aside.
  3. Complete three pictures in one row or column, then say "Bingo!" Check that all three have been called. Diagonals do not count, and there is no free space.

Give everyone time to finish each turn. Players who complete a line on the same turn share the win.

The caller may play too, drawing without peeking and following the same rules. A playing caller counts as one of the 2-4 players. To start again, clear the boards, swap them, and shuffle all nine cards.

Nine caller cards to cut out, one for each autumn picture.

Keep the pictures on the table

Guess from a clue. Describe a picture without naming it. "Hold it overhead to keep the rain off" points to the umbrella. Take turns making your own clues.

Sort and explain. Put the squirrel and owl together as animals, or the umbrella and rain boot together for rainy days. Try another grouping and explain it; a picture can belong to more than one group.

Tell a fall story. Start with the squirrel, umbrella, and apple. Each person adds a sentence. Swap one picture to find a new ending.

Questions before you print

Do I need to print all nine pages? No. One round needs 3-5 sheets: one board per player plus the caller cards. Keep the other pages on screen if you prefer.

Can the caller join in? Yes. A caller who plays is one of the 2-4 players and draws cards without looking at the pictures first.

Do diagonals count? No. Win with one complete row or column. There is no free space.

What happens if two players call Bingo together? Check both lines against the drawn cards. If both lines were completed on the same turn, both players win.

Can we play without reading the labels? Yes. The caller shows and names each picture, and players match the drawings.

Which file should I choose? Choose A4 for A4 paper or US Letter for US Letter paper. Both files contain the same game. Print at 100% / Actual Size.

Three after-game activities: clue guessing, sorting, and a shared fall story.
